The week’s finds
#1 In his much-anticipated new book, Yotam Ottolenghi brings his inspiring, flavour-forward approach to comfort cooking, delivering new classics that taste of home.
A bowl of pasta becomes caramelised onion orecchiette with hazelnuts and crispy sage, a warming soup is cheesy bread soup with savoy cabbage and cavolo nero, and a plate of mash is transformed into garlicky aligot potato with leeks and thyme.
Weaving childhood memories and travel with over 100 irresistible recipes, Ottolenghi COMFORT is a celebration of food and home – of the connections we make as we cook and which we pass on from generation to generation. We love this book!
#2 The Tickle Tub is a proudly South African fire-driven hot tub manufactured in any colour your heart desires. With 300 colour choices, the portable, off-grid hot tub comes with a stainless steel coil that attaches conveniently to the side. At R27 000, it is a wish list item for the likes of Lady Anne Barnard, but we love it!
#3 Our favourite pen is the Pilot G-2 10 Gel Broad Nib Retractable. A packet of two costs R75 at Takealot.

What are we eating this week?
Spaghetti with anchovy cream and lemon
Readers will know about our passion for anchovies and now there is this creamy pasta dish!
Ingredients
Half a packet of spaghetti, two tins of anchovies in olive oil, and three large or six smaller garlic cloves. The zest and juice of one to two lemons, a big knob of butter and grated Parmesan, enough for the cream and to serve extra.
Quote of the week
#7 Witticisms from Maggie Smith
#1 No Englishman would dream of dying in someone else's house.
#2 Speak your mind even if your voice shakes.
#3 There is a kind of invisible thread between the actor and the audience; when it's there, it's stunning, and there is nothing to match that.
#4 At my age, one must ration one’s excitement.
#5 What is a weekend?
#6 I tend to head for what's amusing because many things aren't happy. But usually, you can find a funny side to practically anything.
#7 Glenn Close isn't an actress – she's an address.
Video of the week
Ian McKellen's imitation of Maggie Smith on The Graham Norton Show.
Til next week.
