#3 Sout Afrika

Funky Ouma has a new range of four different salts: Popcorn Sprinkle, Braai & BBQ, Frying Seasoning and then our favourite, Chipotle (Smoked Chilli).

#4 Interesting podcast

The Rest Is Classified is a new podcast favourite. Made by the people of The Rest is History and The Rest is Politics, this series takes you into the mysterious world of spies and espionage. It is hosted by David McCloskey, a former CIA analyst and espionage novelist, and veteran security affairs correspondent Gordon Corera. Captivating and compelling.

#5 Towel fabric

The Fomolistas are obsessed with stripes and we are currently raving about the wide variety of beautiful towels available everywhere this season. But not for drying bods – we use them to make cushions for the porch.

#6 Fringes on everything

We are obsessed with fringes. They gives attitude and pizzazz to ordinary items – from umbrellas to sofas. And what about lampshades? And those striped pillowcases?

#7 The new Samba

We lost our hearts on these slip-on shoes from Onitsuka Tiger. Totally gorgeous.

#8 Architectural wonder

On Dezeen's Instagram page: an old abattoir in the Czech Republic that has been converted into an art gallery with rotating concrete walls.

#9 South African sauna

A locally manufactured barrel sauna made of wood.

#10 Seared leek leaf oil with egg

Fried eggs on rice? No, much tastier than it sounds. Try this recipe.

#11 Enchanting, shy trees

This video of trees and the phenomenon of “crown shyness" hypnotised us.
