Ready to follow the US election results?

BELOW are the South African times (🇿🇦) early Wednesday morning when the polling stations will close in the respective American states. After that, the major US broadcast networks will begin projecting the results for each state where all polling stations have closed.

Next to each state is indicated how many electoral college votes each state contributes, and who is expected to win the relevant state. If a state's result differs from the expectation, it indicates a surprising turn – and then the fat is in the fire. To win, a candidate must get 270 electoral college votes.

🔴 means Donald Trump should definitely win the state.

🔺 means Donald Trump is the favourite to win the state.

⚠️ means it's a battleground state where Donald Trump and Kamala Harris should be neck and neck.

🔵 means Kamala Harris should definitely win the state.

🔹 means Kamala Harris is the favourite to win the state.
