Some weeks there isn't much fun news to comment on. There isn't a presidential debate or a test against the All Blacks. But it's the little things that really matter, says ALI VAN WYK, like a group of students singing spontaneously at an airport.

It's guaranteed. If you bump into this bunch of students from the University of the Free State's institutional choir at Dubai's airport after three months abroad, you're going to end up seriously sobbing and throwing your arms round someone's neck.

It's not only on the sports field and in the cultural sphere where we excel, but also where it really matters: the refrigeration and air conditioning department. Thank you, Philippus.
