ILSE BIGALKE:
In the mockumentary Cunk on Earth, Philomena Cunk provides a short history of humankind in five intense episodes.
Cunk, a character created by the comedian Diane Morgan, makes fun of everything and everybody as she explores history.
Experts are peppered with outrageous questions about sacred and many other cows. Some of them cope with the answers with more success than others while trying to keep a straight face.
The series was introduced to Netflix a few months ago. It's not for everyone but provides wonderful comic relief on a rainy winter’s day.
ANNELIESE BURGESS:
The other day, when I was trying to balance on a chair for the umpteenth time to get to the top shelf of my bookcase, I went looking for a ladder.
This one is sturdy but compact, folds up and down easily and is taller than a chair. I'm really happy with it. It costs R399 at Takealot.
LAUREEN ROSSOUW:
I love terrazzo and I was so excited when I saw this laminated terrazzo floor at the Decorex exhibition.
At R780/m² it’s a perfect solution and a modern alternative to the cold tiles in the living areas of your home.
ANNELIESE BURGESS:
When it comes to buying kitchen scissors, cheap is not an option. If you want to cut everything from a chicken’s backbone to a piece of rope or a sprig of rosemary in the garden, you're looking for good quality.
I love these pretty red scissors taped to my fridge. They cost R369 at Takealot.
ILSE BIGALKE:
If you have a very active dog, you may often be at a loss as to how to keep it busy when you walk out the door.
Stuffed hooves are a popular option, but quite expensive at local pet stores. Takelot offers a bucket with 30 hooves for R329. It’s excellent value for money.
