Angela Tuck:

If, unlike the Springboks, you want to participate in the World Cup by not wearing aquamarine, try these scarves while spring is still waiting to, well, spring. Big Blue also has a great selection of Springbok Made in South Africa T-shirts. Flag it.

Laureen Rossouw:

Although at first I objected to watching the doc series Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones on Netflix, I soon forgot about my preconceived notions.

It's interestingly put together, takes you to the different blue zones which produce long-living people, and naturally converts you to abandon all your bad habits after each episode. Good to watch, good to know, and even better to aim for 100.

If I were Barry Ronge, I'd give it an 8.

Anneliese Burgess:

I am a convert to stemless glasses for everyday wine drinking. They don’t topple over and are easier to wash. And you can get them everywhere now — from Consol to Yuppiechef (and even Pep Home).

But I love a super-thin lip, and the Riedel wine tumblers I bought at Woolworths are perfect. R490 for two.

Yuppiechef sells a set of four white and four red Riedel glasses for R1,789 (that works out to about R224 each).

A more affordable option which I have not yet checked out, but will, are the wine tumblers made by Consol. R130 for 4! I see HiFiCorp (R129) and Makro (R219) also sell it. And  Takealot (R189).

Ilse Bigalke:

These days I buy almost all of my pet products online. It's generally cheaper than local pet stores, which often have to factor high overheads into prices.

Takealot is an excellent online source, but I recently discovered ePETstore, which has an amazing range of products that cover your pet's needs from food, treats and flea, worm and tick repellents to safety in the car, health remedies, training aids, harnesses, toys and comfy beds.

And they cater for dogs, cats, fish, birds and small pets such as rabbits.

A bonus is the blog about all kinds of pet issues, such as why Yogi is so itchy, how to fight the pesky bugs and how to choose an animal that fits your lifestyle.

Anneliese Burgess:

On a trip to the US a few years ago, I became obsessed with the Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning blend from Trader Joe's. Friends still bring some back for me when they visit the States.

In a withdrawal phase, I developed my own recipe, which is pretty good, but I don’t always have the time and the ingredients to make a batch, so I was super-excited to see that Woolworths now makes a version (that is almost as good as I remember the Trader Joe's one to be).

Everything Bagel Sprinkle costs R36.99

And here is a link to my recipe in Vrye Weekblad.
